These are the questions HVAC owners ask most often before handing over their social media. The short answers are above; this page adds context on the issues that tend to decide whether a social media programme works or quietly fails.

Frequently asked questions

How much does HVAC.Social cost?

Social media work is delivered through HVAC.Agency plans, which start at $2,998 per month, with Growth at $4,498 and Elite at $8,998. Prices are in Canadian dollars plus GST/HST based on your province (GST and QST in Quebec), and ad spend is paid directly to the platforms.

Do you lock us into a contract?

No. There is no lock-in. You stay because the work is producing calls and booked jobs, and you can leave if it is not.

How soon will we see results?

Posting and replies improve within the first two to three weeks. Paid campaigns need four to eight weeks of learning before the numbers settle. A full seasonal cycle, roughly 90 days, is a fair period to judge whether the programme is paying off.

We tried a social media agency before and got nothing but likes. Why is this different?

Because we set up tracked phone numbers and booked-job reporting before any money is spent, and we report calls and cost per booked job first. If those numbers do not move, we say so and change the plan rather than showing you a chart of impressions.

Who owns our pages, ad accounts and videos?

You do. Business pages, ad accounts, pixels, audiences and every finished video stay in your name. We work with access you grant and can remove at any time.

Can you promise a number of leads?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. We can show you the maths behind a plan, the results of our wider HVAC marketing work, and exactly how we will measure progress each month.

What do the monthly reports show?

Calls, messages, booked jobs and cost per booked job, by platform and campaign. Engagement figures such as reach and views are included in a separate, clearly labelled section.

Do our technicians have to be on camera?

No. Many effective HVAC clips show only hands, tools and equipment with a clear voice-over or captions. Faces help trust, but nobody is required to appear.

Will filming slow down our crews?

Barely. A shot list asks for a handful of short clips on jobs the tech is already doing, usually a few minutes per job at most. Nothing is staged.

Which platforms should an HVAC company be on?

For most Canadian HVAC companies, Facebook and Instagram come first, with YouTube Shorts and TikTok added once the basics are running. Google Business Profile posts should match the social calendar.

Can you post about rebates for us?

Yes, carefully. Every rebate post links the official program page, carries a date and tells homeowners to confirm eligibility. We never imply everyone gets the maximum amount or that a program is open before it is.

Do you handle French-language content for Quebec?

Yes. Quebec content for Quebec customers needs to be available in French, so Quebec calendars are planned in French from the start.

Are you an HVAC contractor?

No. HVAC.Social is a digital marketing and business consulting service. We never install, repair or service equipment, and technical answers on your feed come from your licensed staff.

Price and what you are paying for

The plan price pays for planning, content, editing, management and reporting. Ad spend is separate and goes straight to the platforms from your own account.

This split matters because it lets you see exactly what the platforms charged and exactly what the work cost. An agency that bundles ad spend into one monthly figure makes it impossible to judge either. The pricing page shows each HVAC.Agency plan and how the social media services fit into it.

Contracts, ownership and leaving

You keep everything, and there is no lock-in. If you leave, your pages, ad accounts, pixels, audiences and the library of finished videos stay with you.

Before signing with any agency, ask three questions:

  1. Whose name is on the ad account?
  2. Who owns the edited videos and the raw footage?
  3. What happens to the pixel and the audiences if we part ways?

If the answers are vague, walk away. Losing an ad account's history can set a company back months.

If an agency let you down before

The most common complaint we hear is "we paid for months and got likes, not calls". It is a fair complaint, and it usually comes from one of three causes:

  • No tracking. The agency could not connect posts or ads to calls, so it reported what it could count.
  • Wrong goals. Campaigns optimised for reach or engagement because those are cheap to deliver.
  • Generic content. Stock imagery and recycled captions that could belong to any HVAC company anywhere.

Our services overview explains how each service is set up to avoid those failures, starting with tracked numbers and seasonal timing.

Results and reporting

Monthly reporting puts business outcomes first: calls, messages, booked jobs and cost per booked job. Platform metrics come second, labelled as such.

We will never promise a number of leads, because results depend on your market, your offer and how quickly your office answers. The results page shows named outcomes from our wider HVAC marketing work, and explains what each one does and does not prove.

Video, platforms and your crews

Most owners worry that social media will take time away from paying work. Done properly, it takes a few minutes per job and a short weekly approval.

Your techs film a handful of short clips on jobs they are already doing, using a simple shot list. Nobody has to appear on camera, and nothing is staged. We edit, caption and schedule the finished videos, and the office approves each batch. The job-site video playbook shows exactly what a tech is asked to do, including how to ask a homeowner's permission before filming.

On platforms, start where your customers already are. For most Canadian HVAC companies that means Facebook and Instagram first, then YouTube Shorts and TikTok once the basics run smoothly. Spreading thin across five platforms with weak content does more harm than doing two well.

Rebates, claims and staying out of trouble

Rebate posts are popular and risky, because programs change often and homeowners take posts at face value.

Our rules are simple: every rebate post links the official source, carries the date it was checked, uses "up to" for maximum amounts, and describes announced programs as upcoming until they actually open. Savings and environmental claims are kept specific and supportable. Prices in ads include every mandatory fee. These habits protect your reputation as much as any legal risk.
